March of Dimes fights for the health of all moms and babies. We're advocating for policies to protect them. We're working to radically improve the healthcare they receive. We're pioneering research to find solutions. We're empowering families with the knowledge and tools to have healthier pregnancies. By uniting communities, we're building a brighter future for us all.

M.I.S.S. Foundation (Mothers in Sympathy and Support) is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization committed to providing emergency support to families after the death of their child whether through miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, premature birth, congenital anomalies, sudden death or child's death at any age.

MISS offers immediate and ongoing support to any family who has experienced the death of a child.  This support can be by phone or email or in person.  Support can be peer-to-peer or in a group setting.  Both local mentors have personally experienced the death of a child through stillbirth and/or miscarriage.  All support resources are free of charge.

Our mission is to serve those touched by the death of a baby through pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or in the first few months of life.  Our purpose is to provide support toward healing at the time of or following the death of a baby.

walk to remember_edited.jpg

As we were revamping our hospital bereavement services, we became aware of perinatal loss events happening across the nation during the month of October.  However, there was nothing in San Antonio.  So, from very humble beginnings, we offer Walk to Remember to our community and surrounding areas.  It is a special place for families to speak about and celebrate their babies’ short lives.  Several participants whose losses occurred long ago have expressed that this event allowed them to grieve for the first time.  And for some families, this has become an annual event.
