At about two weeks old. Russell's eyes were still fused shut. He was kept in a plastic "misting" tent to prevent his skin from drying out. After cotton balls, Russell graduated to Cabbage Patch doll diapers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Russell Joseph Frazier was born on March 7, 1997—16 weeks early. He greeted the world at 14 ounces and only 10.5 inches long. The tiny baby was not expected to live, and spent 95 days in the NICU at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
