THREADS OF LOVE

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

" ...I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."  Matthew 25:40 (NIV)

Having known the pain of losing several premature grandbabies, Liz's heart went out to the families of preemies.  "This is a very scary time for parents because they don't know if the baby will live or be severely handicapped," Liz said in the article.  "They don't know how many surgeries they will have to have.  There are lots of unanswered questions.  A mother never forgets she had a baby, even if it never lived. If you have a baby that dies (during pregnancy), nobody sees that.  No one talks about it."

"Retired teacher recognized for helping premature babies."  So read the headline of the May 25, 2001 edition of the San Antonio Express-News.
Liz Page, a retired schoolteacher sought to serve God and found what she was looking for with Threads of Love, which provides hospitals with handmade baby clothes and accessories for premature, sick and dying babies.
Even while serving these grieving families, Liz urges parents not to give up hope.  Despite losing several of her own grandchildren by miscarriage, Liz can joyfully point to the wonderful families God has now given her twin daughters.
