IT'S A GO!

THREADS WILL HAVE ITS OWN BUILDING

For years, Oak Hills Church has graciously provided Threads of Love a room in which to meet, sew, knit and crochet. But as both the work and  the number of our volunteers have grown, these facilities no longer accommodate our needs. Because our meeting room is used by Oak Hills for other purposes during the week, and especially on Sundays, we cannot leave our work area intact between weekly meetings. Each week we must set up our work areas with multiple sewing machines, fabrics, packing supplies, etc. - all the special items needed to support Threads of Love's ministry. And of course, at the end of each weekly gathering, all the supplies - including the many heavy sewing machines - have to be taken down and put away in a small storage closet. Not only does all this setting up and taking down make for a lot of extra effort, but it creates the potential for injury as well as damage to our sewing machines.

We have been praying for some time about a solution to the "problem" of our continuing growth. In 2007, the Lord led us to establish a building fund for the purpose of purchasing, or building our own Threads of Love facility. By God's grace, we have now received enough  funds to complete our building project. And after much additional prayer, we have entered into an agreement with Oak Hills Church that will allow us to construct our building on an unused portion of their land! Ground-breaking is scheduled for June 6, 2009.

We are so grateful to all who have made this step possibleto our many volunteers who continue to serve so faithfully; and so sacrificially; to our donors without whose generosity this building would not have been possible;and to Oak Hills Church for the use of their facilities for so many years, and now for the use of the land, upon which our building will rest. And above all, we are grateful to our Lord and Savior, whose blessings continue to be upon this ministry and upon the precious babies we serve in His name. To Him alone be the glory!
